Imaginary Journeys Through Movement and Sound
Wednesday, Feb 18, 2026
On February 18, educators took part in Imaginary Journeys Through Movement and Sound led by national arts integration specialist Marcia Daft. This workshop combined music, storytelling, and movement to help students grasp concepts from the water cycle to spatial reasoning—all through creative, hands-on learning.
That same week, Maria Martinez, SNSTA STEM Teacher Fellow, led Application of AI in Disaster Recovery in Florida Communities in collaboration with the FAU College of Engineering’s Center for Smart Streetscapes (CS3). Thank you to the Director of the program, Dr. Jason Hallstrom & Dr. Donna Chamely-Wiik, Associate Dean, Undergraduate Research and Prestigious Fellowships, for making this opportunity available to a select group of teachers, including our very own ADHUS teachers Amy Miramontes & Sarah Murczek. Participants examined how artificial intelligence can guide post-disaster engineering and data analysis; real-world STEM in action and will be supported by the CS3 grant to implement this program in their classrooms.
