MATE

Students will design and fully build their own ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) from the ground up, enhancing their soldering, 3D printing, design, and coding skills. Students will form their own underwater robotics company, develop a marketing plan, design, build, and document an advanced tele-controlled ROV for competition based on the 2025–26 MATE rules. In the end, they’ll take their ROVs to the Florida Regional Competition, where they’ll put their skills to the ultimate test. Through exciting hands-on challenges, students will explore real engineering concepts, sharpen their problem-solving skills, and work together to navigate their custom-built creations through the water.
