2025 Brainwaves Symposium: Igniting Innovation with Brain-Based Learning & Action Research
Monday, Mar 31, 2025
The 2025 Brainwaves Symposium
invites educators to delve into the neuroscience behind learning, and the ways in which reflection on teaching practices can significantly enhance student success. Participants will examine the interplay between anatomical, cognitive, and functional aspects of the learning process, utilizing insights from imaging studies and scientific research to inform their teaching methods and lesson design. This exploratory journey will illuminate how cognitive development varies with age, social maturation, emotional growth, and cognitive progression, and how these factors influence student learning. The workshop includes an introduction to action research as a reflective tool for educators. Participants will learn how to leverage this approach to continuously refine their teaching practice, in turn nurturing a more impactful and enriching learning environment for their students. Findings of prior research will be shared during the symposium, enriching our collective understanding and practices.
Key aspects of the symposium include:
- Understanding Brain Structure and Function in Learning
- Cognitive Development and Educational Strategies
- Practical Applications of Neuroscience in the Classroom
-
Action Research Symposium: Roundtables and Presentations on topics such as: Early Childhood Education, STEM Integration, Literacy Strategies, and more.
